Chilliwack-logo-e1303317733728Turns out, there was no proof of any voter fraud having taken place in Chilliwack during the 2014 municipal election. Shortly after the results came out, there were allegations made, mostly on social media, that some people may have voted more than once, which would be a violation of the Local Government Act. A company called DataFix was brought in to analyze the database, and that info was then passed onto RCMP. After an investigation, they didn’t find any sufficient evidence of fraud, so the case is now closed.
The city’s Chief Election Officer, Carol Friesen says even though there will be no charges, it was still worth conducting the investigation to ensure the integrity of the election process.
