IHIT investigating suspicious death in Abbotsford

The Integrated Homcide Team has taken over the investigation after a man found severely injured in Abbotsford last night died.
Just after 11pm, the man was found on Lonzo road, just off Sumas Way. Cbl Ian Macdonald with Abbotsford Police says they can’t say for sure that it’s a homicide.

“Certainly we believe this to be a suspicious death, and that’s what APD and IHIT will investigate.  We can’t conclude that this was a homicide but certainly we’re investigating and gathering evidence as if it were.”

Macdonald says it’s too early on to be giving any details about how the man may have come to be there.  All they’ll say for now is that he was “severely injured”.  The victim was a white man in his 30s.
