rcmp-cruiser3-637x429(Submitted by Fraser Valley Traffic Services)  On June 4, 2015 at approximately 8:00 AM, Boston Bar RCMP responded to a report of a two vehicle collision between a passenger vehicle and a “B Train” tractor-trailer loaded with lumber. The collision occurred on Highway #1 westbound, near Blue Lake Road, north of Boston Bar.

The preliminary investigation has determined that the passenger vehicle driven by a 63 year old woman collided with the tractor-trailer which was travelling in the same direction.  The woman and sole occupant of the vehicle succumbed to her injuries on scene. The name of the woman is not being released at this time out of respect for the family.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured, remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

RCMP Fraser Valley Traffic Services is continuing the investigation with assistance from the Integrated Collision Analyst and Reconstructionist Service and the BC Coroners Service.

The highway was closed for several hours; however, is now partially open with alternating traffic. Cpl. Rempel of BC RCMP Traffic Services reminds motorists who plan to travel in the area to slow down for emergency crews on scene.

Anyone who may have witnessed this collision that has not already spoken to police is asked to contact the RCMP Fraser Valley Traffic Services at 604-702-4039, reference file # 2015-20330.
