Our hot, dry summer has pumpkins ready earlier than usual. My family carved pumpkins around Oct. 5th last year and they only lasted a week and a half. Some ‘experts’ suggest trying a no-carve’ jack-o-lantern so it’ll last the entire season.

What do you do for Halloween? Scoop out the pumpkin guts and carve crazy faces or set the kid sup with the whole pumpkin to decorate it with all manner of art supplies?
