One of the glitziest events of the year in Chilliwack is coming up November on 7th…the 12th annual November Night Gala in support of the Chilliwack Hospice Society. This year’s theme is “Vintage Hollywood”, and ‘Man About Town’ Fred Lee will be MCing the event. Organizer Joldie Hayes says there will be eating, drinking, entertainment, and even dancing this year, but the cause is the most important reason to go.

“Something that’s been very evident to us is that people know what hospice is, but they really don’t know the part that the Chilliwack Hospice Society plays in it.  Most people just think of hospice as a place to die, but don’t realize that the people left behind are also grieving and how they deal with their grief.”

If you’d like to attend, there are still a few tickets left at their office on Hodgins Ave. If you’d like to support them but can’t make the event or afford a ticket, you can also donate a bottle of wine to their “wine wall” which gets auctioned off every year.

This is the Hospice Society’s biggest fundraiser of the year.  Last year, they raised over $98,000, their biggest year ever.  Hayes says none of it would be possible without the support of the community, and the 200+ volunteers who make the organization run.
