Boundary changes for the next provincial election

The final report from the BC Electoral Boundaries Commission was finished in September, but was delivered to the legislature this week, and for those who haven’t heard, there will be some changes to the ridings in time for the 2017 provincial election.  In Abbotsford, there will still be 3 ridings, but Abbotsford-South will be taking on Aldergrove and part of the Langley Township.  There will still be two Chilliwack ridings, but the big change for the upper valley is that Hope and the Fraser Canyon are joining the Fraser-Nicola riding, while the Chilliwack-Kent riding will return, and will be taking on part of Sardis (South of the freeway, East of Vedder and North of South Sumas Rd).  BC is going from 85 to 87 ridings for the next election.
