Abbotsford Police investigate two overnight shootings

Abbotsford Police are investigating two shootings that have happened since last night. Cst Paul Walker tells us the first call was around 9:30 Sunday night, where shots were fired between two vehicles at Salton Rd and Fern St. Police found shell casings on the ground, but no evidence that anyone was hit. Walker says they got another call….

“We get a call at 12:13am, reporting shots fired in the 31500 block of Ridgeview Drive.  Again, patrol officers arrive on scene and identify a home in the area that had been struck by bullets.  Fortunately there was no indication of persons being injured in that shooting as well.”

He says the shootings were on separate sides of town, but the 2nd one was in the Townline Hill area. He says there’s no evidence yet that it’s connected to the ongoing gang conflict there, but police are looking at surveillance tape from the area.
