FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

With the Chilliwack Chiefs 7-0 win over the Langley Rivermen on Sunday, the Chiefs have secured second place in the Mainland Division and home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Chiefs will take on the third place Surrey Eagles in the opening round.

While the Eagles did win the regular season series over the Chiefs, Associate Coach and Assistant GM Brad Rihela thinks home ice could play a big role in the post season.

“The opportunity to start the series on home ice, in front of our fans, is invaluable to us. From a coaching perspective obviously, there are other advantages with last change, etc. But the opportunity to begin the playoffs in front of our own fans is what we are most excited about,” he said.
