The Chilliwack Chiefs are proud to announce that their captain Nathan Kelly has committed to Union College for the 2020-21 NCAA Season. Kelly, the 5’11 190 pound rearguard, is a veteran of 115 BCHL games, and has totaled one goal and four assists thus far in the season. In his BCHL career, Kelly has become one of the more reliable 200-foot defenders in the league, using his elite skating ability and good first pass to help his teams moving the puck up ice.

“We are all very proud of Nathan and happy he was able to land this commitment. He is a great person with an incredible work ethic and it is great to see him rewarded for his efforts,” said Head Coach and GM Brian Maloney. Brad Rihela also weighed in on the Chiefs captain’s commitment. “Nathan is extremely deserving of this and will continue to develop into one of the elite defenders in the entire BCHL,” said the associate coach.

When Kelly was asked about his big news he had this to say, “I chose Union College for their commitment to academics and success on the ice. I believe it is the best fit for me and I am super excited to be a part of their program.”

Congratulations, Nathan!
