At approximately 11:00am this morning the Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched to a reported shed fire located in the 9000 block of Broadway Street.

Nine firefighters responded from Halls 1, and 4 and on arrival, reported smoke and flames through the roof of a small detached shed on a residential property. There were no occupants on-scene at the time of the fire.
Initial arriving crews quickly began a defensive fire attack while securing a water supply to bring the fire under control. Firefighters effectively extinguished the fire, containing fire and smoke damage to the building of origin. The shed suffered significant fire and smoke damage.

Chilliwack Fire Department is investigating the fire to determine cause.

There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.
