Chilliwack: Chilliwack RCMP is advising the public that the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been deployed following a shooting at a Chilliwack residence.

Shortly before 6pm on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, Chilliwack RCMP were called to a report of gunshots at a residence located in the 9700 block of Windsor Street in Chilliwack. Frontline officers responded and located an unresponsive man suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was transported to hospital where he died from his injuries.

IHIT has been deployed and will be working in partnership with the Chilliwack RCMP. Investigators are in the initial evidence gathering phase of this investigation. At this stage, this appears to be a targeted incident and it is not believed that there is a threat to the public at this time. Investigators are working to determine whether this death has any links to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.
