Residents Evacuate Safely from Structure Fire

On April 30^th 2019 at approximately 22:00hrs the Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire located in the 50000 block of Prairie Central Rd. On arrival fire crews reported seeing smoke and heavy flame from the exterior rear deck and roof structure of a two storey residential home.

Firefighters responded from Halls 1, 2, 4 & 6. The fire was stubborn to fight as it was deep seated within the roof structure. The structure sustained smoke and fire damage to both the exterior and interior of the home.

Occupants were home at the time of the fire and quickly called 9-1-1 and safely evacuated the residence.

There were no civilian and or firefighter injuries.

The cause of the fire appears to be accidental at this time and is still under investigation by the Chilliwack Fire Department.
