Fraser Valley Remembrance Day Events

CHILLIWACK

Road closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 11. Please note closure times and locations in the maps below or attached and plan accordingly.

SARDIS – Procession begins at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #280 (5661 Vedder Road) at 10:30 am with the ceremony immediately following at All Sappers Memorial Park (5571 Vedder Road).

DOWNTOWN – Service starts at 10am at Evergreen Hall, procession begins at 10:30 am from Evergreen Hall with the ceremony immediately following at the Cenotaph outside the Chilliwack Museum (45820 Spadina Avenue).

ABBOTSFORD

Where: Thunderbird Square – Veterans Way (behind City Hall and next to Clearbrook Library)
When: 9:30am coffee provided, parade forms at 10:30am at Garden and Simon Streets

Members of the Royal Canadian Legion and members of local youth cadet corps are among those who will participate in the ceremony, which includes a parade and laying of the wreaths.

Two minutes of silence are observed at 11am, please arrive by 10:45am.

HOPE

Location: 325 Wallace Street, Hope BC

Parade will start at the Legion and on to the Cenotaph for the ceremony at 11:00am
Details: Remembrance Day ceremonies presented at the Cenotaph in Memorial Park.

Live music and food provided in our lounge for the community after the ceremony.

AGASSIZ

Place: Agassiz ELHI auditorium (High School Auditorium) and at the Cenotaph at Morrow RD & Vimy Road

Time: Starts at 10AM at High School, march to Cenotaph at approx 10:45 AM for 2 min silence & laying of wreaths, back to Legion for chili, hotdogs & hot buttered rum after.

MISSION

Remember those who have served and fallen in service of Canada. Join us on November 11 for Mission’s Remembrance Day Ceremony, organized by the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 57.

10:00 AM – the parade will form up at the Ecole des Deaux Rives on Stave Lake Street.

10:15 – Parade marches off.

10:40 – Service of Remembrance begins in the Clarke Theatre with Last Post, silence, reveille.

Following the service, wreath laying ceremony will take place at the Legion Branch #57 – 32627 Logan Avenue, Mission. Everyone is invited to the Branch for a social gathering in the lounge after the ceremonies.
