Chilliwack:  A prohibited driving investigation led to the arrest of a man and seizure of drugs by the RCMP.

 

On October 12, 2018, around 12:45 p.m., a suspicious vehicle travelling on Riverside Road was spotted by an alert Chilliwack Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) officer.

 

CRU officers supported by RCMP Chilliwack Traffic Service quickly located the vehicle parked at a pull-out at Hamilton Street and Lewis Avenue and took an individual into custody in the 45000-block of Lewis Avenue.

 

Drugs believed to be methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and cash were seized from the suspect by police during the arrest.

 

Jeff Brian Aubie, 41, of Chilliwack is charged with three counts of possessing a controlled drug / substance for the purpose of trafficking.  Mr. Aubie  has been released from custody pending a court date later in October.

 

“An alleged driving offence observed by a plainclothes officer led to the seizure of illegal drugs,” says Corporal Mike Rail spokesperson for the UFVRD.  “RCMP are committed to keeping the roadways of our community safe.”
