A local RCMP officer will be among riders cycling across the Fraser Valley in the 2018 Cops for Cancer Tour De Valley.

 

Held in conjunction with regional Cops for Cancer tours throughout the province, law enforcement and emergency service personnel ride to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and caring support programs.

 

This year the Chilliwack RCMP is represented on the Fraser Valley leg of the tour by Constable Alain Castonguay. Growing up in New Brunswick participating in sports Alain’s athletic ability will be put to the test in the demanding Tour De Valley.

 

“I have always wanted to help kids and the experience is heartwarming,” says Castonguay.  “Cops for Cancer allows me to support these remarkable children and their families.”

 

Planned from September 13 – 21, 2018 the Cops for Cancer Tour De Valley will challenge participants on an 800 kilometer journey from Twawassen to Boston Bar.

 

“A friend inspired me big time,” he says.  “My buddy is ‘riding with me’ for all the kids.”
