Abbotsford school board to consider grade reconfiguration at six rural elementary schools

There are still six elementary schools in the Abbotsford district that go from Kindergarten to Grade 7. The school board is considering making them K-5, to fall in line with all the others in the district. According to SecretaryTreasurer
Ray Velestuk (vel-e-stuck), staff did a review and found that the inconsistency was creating some capacity challenges, as well as concerns that not all kids in the district are getting the full middle-school experience. No changes will be made until the public is consulted and if it happens, it would be for the next school year.
