(By Martin MacMahon) Homeless people can continue sleeping in Abbotsford’s Jubilee Park after a court decision today.
The City of Abbotsford had been asking a judge to provide an injunction blocking homeless people from sleeping in the park.
But in this ruling, the judge has taken a sort of middle ground.
The decision states homeless people cannot set up permanent or semi-permanent camp in the parks, and must take down their tents during the day.
People are only allowed to sleep in the tent from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
However, the request for damages has been denied.

The City of Abbotsford says they are currently reviewing the decision and will have a statement out later today.
