abbyPD1A 38 yr old man is in hospital after a road rage incident in Abbotsford this past Sunday led to an assault and a hit and run. A family was driving home when they saw someone in a red or burgundy vehicle driving erratically. The father, who was in the passenger seat, took out his phone to take pictures, but the suspect saw him…both vehicles ended up pulling over. The suspect walked over, punched in the passenger window, took the phone, and then when the father got out, the suspect hit him with his car as he drove away. Cbl. Ian Macdonald says the victim is in rough shape.

“Most troubling is a head injury that he suffered.  He remains in hospital, we are working with him and his family and obviously monitoring his condition.  There’s a possibility that this suspect doesn’t know the extent of the damage that was caused, and *may* not even have known about the collision.  So in addition to appealing to witnesses, we are also appealing to this driver to come forward.”

Police are hoping anyone who witnessed the incident Sunday around 7pm on Riverside Rd will give them a call.
The suspect is described as non-white, in his 30s, 5’10 with a medium build.
