(NEWS 1130) For the second time in just the past few days an earthquake has been felt in the Fraser Valley.

The US Geological Survey confirms the  2.6 quake struck 5km east of Mission just after 4:30am this morning. There are no reports of any damage.

A number of people in Abbotsford and Mission are saying they were woken up at about 4:45 this morning.

Greg lives in the Stave Lake area of Mission. “We live in a log house so it’s pretty secure though it was enough to make the bed shake for probably three to five seconds.”

This man also called us from his home in Mission. “You hear the grumbling, the rumbling and you can just feel a very minor shake but it was very quick and done.”

Someone else in Auguston on Sumas Mountain said their house was shaking as well.

There are no reports of any damage.

On Thursday night, there was a small shaker just north of Abbotsford. The US Geological Survey pegged that one at a magnitude 2.4.
