Photo_MERRICKA convicted murderer who has been on the run for a month and a half after escaping from Mission Institution is back in custody.

Shawn Merrick was arrested Wednesday night in Langley thanks to a joint effort from several police agencies and tips from the public.

Merrick was serving a sentence for second degree murder when he walked away from the minimum security prison on March 31st.

He’s a suspect in a string of robberies committed in Surrey and Langley over the last few weeks.
